About Us
We are Pelagia and Mary Komni, two Greek sisters, vegan food bloggers & trained vegan chef
The words “vegetarian” and “vegan” were a bit (let’s admit it!) scary for us in the past.
We are Greeks after all, and that means we were raised with a lot of feta (couldn’t even imagine eating pasta without feta! 🤯), fish, and pastitsio (this delicious combination of minced meat, pasta, and béchamel)!
Going vegetarian, and then, vegan, seemed quite shocking to everybody who didn’t know that we watched a few things and decided “That’s enough! Compassion comes first, and then, our belly.”
Since then, we had some lovely culinary experiences (and revelations as the biggest one which is “wow, vegan food is really yummy!!”), and got even trained to become vegan Chef (who knew that it’s possible to enjoy again the tastes of the past but in their healthier and of course, cruelty-free version 😎)!
That’s how we ended up in creating our vegan blog, Greek Appetite, as well as our digital cookbook “Eat Like A Greek Vegan”.
