About Us

We are Pelagia and Mary Komni, two Greek sisters, vegan food bloggers & trained vegan chef

The words “vegetarian” and “vegan” were a bit (let’s admit it!) scary for us in the past.

We are Greeks after all, and that means we were raised with a lot of feta (couldn’t even imagine eating pasta without feta! 🤯), fish, and pastitsio (this delicious combination of minced meat, pasta, and béchamel)!

Going vegetarian, and then, vegan, seemed quite shocking to everybody who didn’t know that we watched a few things and decided “That’s enough! Compassion comes first, and then, our belly.”

Since then, we had some lovely culinary experiences (and revelations as the biggest one which is “wow, vegan food is really yummy!!”), and got even trained to become vegan Chef (who knew that it’s possible to enjoy again the tastes of the past but in their healthier and of course, cruelty-free version 😎)!

That’s how we ended up in creating our vegan blog, Greek Appetite, as well as our digital cookbook “Eat Like A Greek Vegan”.

Do you need to be a vegan to discover all this delicious & nutritious Greek recipes?

These sisters are amazing. Oh my goodness, this is authentic greek cooking, and the best is that it is VEGAN!

Every recipe tastes like Greece, absolutely delicious, and I have felt the abundance of love that has gone into this recipe book. I have a new appreciation for cooking with my family and friends. Each recipe is easy, and with love (and good wine), this is a pleasure to spend time in the kitchen. I feel like the sisters are with me while I cook. Thank you, girls, for such an excellent vegan recipe book where you have never compromised on the flavours and the delicious goodness in every dish.
