Vegan Giouvetsi (Greek Style Stew with Vegan “Chicken”)

Giouvetsi or youvetsi is one of our favorite traditional Greek dishes because it reminds us of the Sunday family lunches when we were living in Greece!

It’s usually made with meat (beef, chicken, etc.) and kritharaki (orzo pasta) or hilopites (small sized pasta) and it’s baked in the oven in a ceramic (when available) baking dish.

You can replace the meat with vegan “chicken”-style chunks and enjoy this delicious meal without sacrificing any real animals for that! 😉

The taste remains the same thanks to the herbs, spices, and the other ingredients! If you want, you can replace the “chicken” with mushrooms.

If you do not have a lot of time or ideas about what to cook, this Greek beauty will steal your heart as it requires very little preparation and time!

Prepare it and tell us how you liked it in the comments below and on social media by tagging us @greekappetite with your creations!
